Vincenzo Romano strode down the marble corridor of Romano Empire Headquarters like he owned the building — which he did. The navy suit from Parliament still sat flawless on his broad frame, not a single crease. Thunderous applause from the Chamber of Deputies still rang in his ears, but his face remained stone-cold. Women in the hallways stole glances, some blushing, some whispering. He walked past them as if they were ghosts.
